The E-Map

NY/NJ Baykeeper (with the help of some talented friends) has created an informative, educational, interactive webmap of the Hudson/Raritan Estuary. To have some fun, and to learn about your Estuary, past and present, follow the link below to launch "The Map".

Overview
The Hudson-Raritan Estuary is the system of bays and tidal rivers where the Hudson, Hackensack, Passaic, Rahway and Raritan rivers meet the ocean. These waters support hundreds of species of fish, shellfish, wildlife and plants. The Estuary surrounds the islands of New York City and wraps around the long shoreline of Northern New Jersey. It is the ecological heart of the metropolitan region.

The restoration of this natural heritage is one of the region's great challenges. This interactive map and presentation describe the Estuary and a range of issues that impact its health. Baykeeper urges you to use the information presented here to help chart a course toward full recovery.

Please Note
All maps in this presentation are used strictly for illustrative purposes only and may not indicate precise geographical representations.

Requirements
This presentation is designed for a minimum screen resolution of 800x600 and requires the Flash Player 6 plug-in. A computer with a fast processor and plenty of RAM is recommended for optimal performance. If you do not have the Flash plug-in you can download it from macromedia here .
