Estuary Conservation

Because we live within the most urban estuary on Earth, our human and natural communities have very limited open space on which to thrive or recreate. A key element of Baykeeper's mission is to advocate for habitat restoration (riverbank stabilization and restoration, and oyster restoration, for example). We also champion open space preservation through effective land use management practices such as land acquisition, brownfields to greenfields conversion, and properly run mitigation banking programs.
