Education and Community Development

Baykeeper seeks to strengthen grassroots citizens groups by catalyzing community partnerships. We offer technical support and form extensive corporative nonprofit group alliances such as the Hackensack Meadowlands Partnership, that is working so successfully to protect the Hackensack Meadowlands. Our oyster gardening and boat auxiliary programs give community volunteers firsthand knowledge of Estuary issues. We offer ecotours and host on-the-water events to get communities back in touch with their Estuary, and to advocate for protection.
